The app gathers everything that happened in your calendar into one place: new appointments, changes, requests, birthdays. There are two ways to reach them — the bell in the calendar header, which opens the list in a box over the calendar, and the menu row, which opens it full screen.
Step 1 — Open the bell in the header
The bell shows up in the calendar header only when you have unread notifications. Tap it and the list opens anchored to the bell, over the calendar — you don't leave the calendar. If, on narrow screens, the bell gives up its spot to the month arrows, the signal moves to a red pill with the unread count, on the corner of the menu button; from there you take the long way in.
Step 2 — Open the full screen from the menu
In the menu, the first row is "Notifications" and it opens the full screen. When you have unread items, the row carries the bell with the red pill too. Same rows, same content, and the same load-on-scroll as the list under the bell — the only difference is how much room they get on screen. This route stays open even after you've read everything, when the bell no longer shows in the header. The gear in the top right of the header takes you to "Notification settings".
Step 3 — Read the list
An unread row has an orange dot on the right; read ones move to a slightly darker background. The app's own announcements (new version, new feature) are the exception: they always sit on a pastel wash, with a colored stripe along the left edge, and don't turn gray after you read them. Under the text you'll see when it arrived: "Received on", followed by the date and time; if you performed the action yourself, the row starts with "You". Scroll to the bottom and older notifications load automatically.
Step 4 — Open a notification
Tap a row and the detail screen opens, showing the full text. Opening it marks it as read — that is the individual marking; there's no separate button on the row. At the bottom you'll also find buttons that take you further: to the appointment, to the client, to the booking requests, to the monthly report, or to the app update. When the appointment is no longer in the app, you get "View that day" instead — the calendar on the day it happened. Some notifications have no button at all (a client deletion, general announcements): there, the text is the whole answer. If you came in from the bell, the back button leaves you in the calendar; if you came in from the menu, it takes you back to the list.
Step 5 — Mark all as read
At the top right of the list you have "Mark read". The button only shows while you have something unread, and it exists in both places — in the list under the bell and on the full screen. When you tap it, you're asked "Mark all notifications as read?"; choose "Yes" to close them all or "No" to back out. The button disappears as soon as nothing is left unread.
Optional: if you have nothing, the list is replaced by "You have no notifications.". If the server can't deliver your notifications, the message is "Notifications are not available right now." — it's not a connection problem on your end, so there's no point checking your internet. While the list is still on its way from the server, you'll see "Loading data...". Some notifications stay pinned at the bottom, under the list, and don't move when you scroll; the ones pinned only until read leave their spot as soon as you've opened them.
